Ghanaian forward Osman Bukari marked his return from injury with a goal and an assist as Red Star Belgrade cruised to a 3-0 victory over OFK Vrsac in the Serbian Cup Quarter-final on Wednesday.
Brought on in the 59th minute to replace Jean-Philippe Krasso, Bukari wasted no time making an impact.
Osman Bukari first set up Cherif Ndiaye to extend Red Star’s lead in the 65th minute, following Aleksandar Katai’s early opener in the 6th minute. Bukari then sealed the win with a goal of his own in the 82nd minute, sending Red Star Belgrade through to the semi-finals.
This impressive performance adds to Bukari’s growing reputation at the Serbian club. The Ghanaian forward has now notched an impressive 10 goals and 7 assists in 30 matches across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, fellow Ghanaian forward Francis Andy Kumi featured for OFK Vrsac, but was unable to prevent his side from exiting the competition.
Red Star Belgrade will now turn their attention back to the domestic league, where they face FK Pancevo on April 14. Bukari’s return to form will be a welcome boost for the Red Star Belgrade faithful as they chase silverware on multiple fronts.
