Ghanaian winger Osman Ibrahim celebrated a convincing performance by FC Nordjaelland with a goal and a message to the fans.
The 19-year-old found the net in the 27th minute as Nordjaelland hammered Aarhus 7-2 in the Danish Superliga.
Taking to Instagram after the match, Ibrahim expressed his delight. “Started hanging with winners, now the conversation is different,” he wrote, hinting at the positive influence his teammates have had on his development.
He also praised the team’s overall performance, adding, “Another goal and three points. Once again big shout out to our incredible fans. Ready to attack again. Let’s go!”
Ibrahim’s goal was just one of many for Nordjaelland. Daniel Svensson, Jeppe Tverskov, Conrad Harder, and Andreas Schjelderup (with a hat-trick) all got on the scoresheet. Patrick Mortensen’s brace for Aarhus proved insufficient as Nordjaelland secured a crucial three points.
The win keeps Nordjaelland firmly in the Champions League qualification race, sitting fourth on the table with 49 points after 26 matches.
The top team qualifies for the Champions League, while second and third place secure spots in the Europa Conference League and its play-off round, respectively. Their next league fixture is against Brondby on April 28.
Osman Ibrahim has been a key figure for Nordjaelland this season. In just 23 Danish Superliga appearances, he has racked up 4 goals and 5 assists, proving himself to be a valuable asset on the pitch.
