Ghanaian striker Naeem Mohammed stole the show for Halmstads BK, netting a brace to secure a convincing 3-1 victory over IFK Värnamo in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday.
Halmstads BK wasted no time asserting their dominance. Marcus Olsson opened the scoring just five minutes into the game, followed by a quickfire double from Mohammed in the 6th and 44th minutes. The Ghanaian forward’s clinical finishing put the visitors in a commanding 3-0 lead before halftime.
Viktor Bergh pulled one back for IFK Värnamo in the 73rd minute, but it proved to be a mere consolation as Halmstads BK held on to secure all three points.
Mohammed was eventually substituted in the 88th minute and received a stellar 7.9 rating for his performance by Sofascore. This impressive display brings his goal tally to three in just six league appearances for Halmstads BK this season. Fellow Ghanaian Thomas Boakye also featured for Halmstads in the win.
This win propels Halmstads BK to second place in the Allsvenskan table with 12 points after six matches. They look to extend their winning run when they face Kalmar FF on May 4 in their next league encounter.
With Naeem Mohammed in top form, Halmstads BK will be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming fixtures.
