Ghanaian winger Kamal Sowah featured for Standard Liege in their dramatic 1-1 draw with Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League on Friday Night.
The 24-year-old winger started the game for Standard Liege and put in a decent performance, lasting 86 minutes before being replaced by Gilles Dewaele.
The match seemed destined for a stalemate until the final stages, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock.
However, with just eleven minutes remaining, Marlon Fossey struck gold for Standard Liege, sending the away fans into raptures. Yet, the celebrations were short-lived as Cercle Brugge refused to go down without a fight. In a nail-biting finale, Thibo Somers found the equalizer deep in the 88th minute, rescuing a point for the home side.
Despite the draw, Standard Liege remain in 10th position on the Belgian league table with 24 points from 22 matches. Their next challenge comes on January 30 when they host Antwerp in what promises to be another fierce encounter.
