Ghana’s Black Princesses Secure 7th Consecutive FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualification

Ghana’s Black Princesses delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Senegal 5-1 in the second leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying final round.  This emphatic victory secured their 7th consecutive appearance at the global showpiece, following a 2-0 first-leg win.

Ghana joins Morocco, Nigeria, and Cameroon as Africa’s representatives at the tournament in Colombia, scheduled for August 21st to September 22nd, 2024.

Despite conceding an early goal by Senegal’s Aissatou Chris Ba, the Black Princesses roared back with Maafia Nyame’s equalizer just 14 minutes later. Beline Nyarko then took the lead for Ghana with a stunning strike in the 23rd minute, setting the tone for a dominant second half.

Tracy Twum converted a penalty in the 67th minute, further solidifying Ghana’s grip on the game. Beline Nyarko then grabbed her second goal five minutes later, before Salamatu Abdulai rounded off the scoring in the 78th minute.

This magnificent win marks a historic milestone for the Black Princesses, extending their incredible streak of qualifying for every U-20 World Cup since 2010.

The Black Princesses’ journey to Colombia has just begun, but with their unyielding spirit and growing confidence, they are sure to leave their mark on the world’s biggest stage.
