Ghana’s Black Queens head coach, Nora Hauptle, is looking forward to a challenging test against Japan on July 13th.
Speaking ahead of the friendly encounter, Hauptle acknowledged the strength of their opponents, stating, “We know Japan were World Champions in 2011 and are currently ranked number seven in the World. This high-class team provides the perfect opposition for us to improve in different areas, especially ball possession.”
The match serves as crucial preparation for both sides. For Ghana, it is a key step in their build up to the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco (July 6th – July 29th, 2025). Meanwhile, Japan uses the game to fine-tune their tactics ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (July 26th – August 11th, 2024).
The Black Queens will be looking to learn from the encounter with the Japanese giants, hoping to improve their skills and tactical awareness before heading to Morocco for the continental championship.
The Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium in Japan will be the stage for this highly anticipated friendly, with kick-off at 6:24 GMT. All eyes will be on Coach Hauptle’s tactical response and the Black Queens’ fight for improvement.
