Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his impressive form for West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship, scoring the opening goal in their 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on Wednesday night.
Asante found the net in the 23rd minute, putting the Baggies ahead. John Swift added a second from the penalty spot just before halftime, securing all three points for West Brom.
The win consolidates their position in the playoff race, as they currently sit fifth in the table with 72 points after 42 matches.
This goal marks Thomas-Asante’s 11th of the season in the Championship, adding to his two assists in 36 appearances. Despite his domestic success, the 25-year-old is yet to represent Ghana internationally, although he was named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but didn’t make the final cut.
With his consistent performances, Brandon Thomas-Asante could be pushing for a call-up to the Black Stars squad in the near future.
West Bromwich Albion will look to maintain their momentum when they host Sunderland on April 13th in their next league fixture.
