Ghanaian forward Daniel Adu-Adjei has joined English League Two side Carlisle United on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Bournemouth.
The 19-year-old is eager to gain valuable first-team experience after a loan spell at Leyton Orient in League One earlier this year, where he scored one goal in ten appearances across all competitions.
A product of the Brentford academy, Adu-Adjei made the move to Fulham before joining Bournemouth in 2021. The young striker has shown promise in the Cherries’ youth system and made his senior debut in the FA Cup last season.
Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson is excited about the prospect of working with Adu-Adjei. “He’ll bring something totally different to the forward options we’ve got at the club,” Simpson said. “He’s prolific in development football, he’s got a great goalscoring record.”
Carlisle United will wrap up their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Stockport County on August 3rd before kicking off their League Two season against Gillingham on August 10th. Daniel Adu-Adjei could make his debut for the Cumbrians in the opening league fixture.
