Ghanaian midfielder David Abagna etched his name in FC Petrocub’s history books after scoring their 400th league goal in the Moldovan Super Liga.
Abagna’s 96th-minute strike secured a convincing 3-0 victory against FC Milsami Orhei, propelling Petrocub to the top of the championship table with a perfect record of 10 points after four matches.
The match also marked a significant milestone for FC Petrocub, becoming the 10th club in the Moldovan Super Liga to achieve the feat of scoring 400 league goals. Abagna’s goal complemented efforts from teammates Vladimir Ambros and Mihail Platica, who found the net in the 29th and 93rd minutes respectively.
This season, David Abagna, who joined Petrocub on loan from Sudanese giants Al Hilal in February 2024, has emerged as a key contributor, boasting two goals and one assist in five matches across all competitions.
Petrocub will look to maintain their winning momentum as they face second-placed Zimbru in their next league fixture scheduled for April 14.
