Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe put in a stellar performance for IF Elfsborg this weekend, earning him a place in Sofascore’s Team of the Week for the Swedish Allsvenskan.
The 23-year-old centre-back, was instrumental in Elfsborg’s thrilling 5-3 victory over rivals Hacken. Yegbe played the entire match and received a high rating of 8.2 for his efforts, which included not only his goalscoring prowess but also a solid defensive display.
The goalscoring party didn’t stop with Yegbe. Sebastian Holmén, Per Frick, and Arbër Zeneli also got on the scoresheet for Elfsborg, ensuring a dominant display against their opponents. For Häcken, Simon Gustafson, Valgeir Lunddal Fridriksson, and Ali Youssef managed to find the back of the net, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Elfsborg’s offensive firepower.
This impressive performance adds to Yegbe’s growing reputation. Since joining Elfsborg in January 2024 from Finnish side SJK Seinäjoki, he has already scored 2 goals in just 8 appearances across all competitions.
Interestingly, Terry Yegbe isn’t the only Elfsborg player to be recognized. Midfielder Arbër Zeneli also secured a spot in the Team of the Week, highlighting the team’s strong showing against Häcken.
