Hearts of Oak CEO Against Playing Games Behind Closed Doors

Hearts of Oak Chief Executive Officer, Frederick Moore has kicked against playing Ghana League games behind closed doors in the midst of Covid-19 if football is to return.

Ghana Football faces cancellation following the outbreak of Covid-19 which has seen the Government placing ban and restrictions on social gatherings.

If football matches can return, it will be played behind to avoid grouping lots of people at stadia but the Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak thinks Ghana football isn’t well endowed to to take care of player salaries and other stuff related to the game.

“Playing without supporters at the stadium will not be my first choice because one third of our revenue comes from gate proceeds, so basically you are telling me to play, have the camping, have the cost of training, have salaries and play without supporters, we are not as endowed as other countries in terms of sponsorship to be able to do that.

“But if that is the objective to to make Ghana Football complete the 2019-2020 season, then we have to go back down the table and do the calculation, the planning and make sure we are there.
