Hearts of Oak Coach Aboubakar Ouattara, has revealed the vital role the club’s fans play in its success and longevity.
In his view, while players and coaches may come and go, the unwavering support of the fans remains the true heartbeat of the team.
Speaking ahead of Hearts of Oak’s upcoming clash with Bechem United, Coach Ouattara acknowledged the fans’ importance and expressed his appreciation for their passion, even amid frustrations over recent results.
He welcomed constructive criticism but urged supporters to refrain from attacking players when things don’t go as planned.
“The fans are like the blood of the club. The coaches may leave, the players may move on, but the fans are always there,” Coach Ouattara noted during the pre-match interview. “We understand their disappointment with the last two matches, and we are calling on them to continue supporting the team because we need them. I listen to the criticism—the good ones I take—but some of it, especially the insults, is not helpful. We ask the fans to keep supporting us.”
Hearts of Oak, after back-to-back underwhelming performances, will be looking to turn their fortunes around this weekend.
The highly anticipated match against Bechem United is scheduled for Sunday, September 22, with kickoff set for 6 PM at the Legon Sports Stadium.
As the Phobians aim to get back on track, Coach Ouattara’s message is clear: the team needs its fans now more than ever, and their continued support could be the key to turning the tide this season.
