Hearts of Oak coach Ouattara talks about the super clash against Kotoko

The first Super Clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season takes center stage this weekend, and Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has made his intentions crystal clear—he is determined to claim all three points against bitter rivals Asante Kotoko.

Despite his struggles against Kotoko since taking charge in Accra, the Ivorian tactician is looking to make a bold statement this time around.

Hearts of Oak head into the clash on the back of a 1-1 draw with Nsoatreman FC in match-week 12, which ended their three-game winning streak.

In that game, Stephen Diyou opened the scoring for Nsoatreman in the 13th minute, but Salim Adams equalized with a well-taken free kick, ensuring both sides shared the spoils.

Speaking after the draw, Ouattara emphasized his focus and desire to deliver a win in the highly anticipated Super Clash.

“Why not, why not, why not? Are you thinking we are going to play because I need a draw? I want the three points. We are determined to make our fans proud,” he asserted confidently.

The Phobians, currently on a four-game unbeaten run, sit sixth on the league table with 19 points from 12 matches.

The upcoming Super Clash, scheduled for December 13, just days after Ghana’s 2024 General Election, offers Hearts a chance to further boost their campaign and excite their passionate fan base.
