Recently, Accra Hearts of Oak of the Ghana Premier League acquired Nimobi Ladies FC to become their women’s football team.
The team’s manager, Mercy Tagoe, was named by the club earlier this week.
According to a statement from Hearts, the 49-year-old’s hiring is a part of a restructuring of the team’s technical staff.
On social media, there was a lot of discussion over whether the 49-year-old would return to coach any of the Women’s National team sides as a result.
The seasoned coach, who was the first woman to manage the Black Queens, was replaced by Nora Hauptle, a Swiss strategist who has started off very well.
Despite his experience with the team, Tagoe-Quarcoo, who initially served as the team’s interim coach in 2018 before securing the permanent position the following year, insists that she is not finished coaching and that Ghana remains one of the potential teams for her in the future.
“Coaching is fraught with dangers. The Black Stars’ [head coach] was Kwesi Appiah. He left for a while before returning. I’m able to return. You can’t be sure. She stated to Citi Sports, “I am still a coach.
The Oaks FC will start a “justify your inclusion” process on August 7 and run until August 9 of 2023. Every day at six in the morning, the exercise will begin at our Kpobiman academy and end there.
This would serve as an opportunity for Tagoe to help make few additions to the squad she inherited and form a competitive squad to compete next season.
