Hearts of Oak’s National Chapters Committee apologize for inappropriate behaviour of fans after CAF Confed Cup exit

National Chapters Committee Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Elvis Herman Hesse has apologized on behalf of the fans for their actions on Sunday after the club’s CAF Confederation Cup exit against AS Real Bamako.

After Hearts of Oak’s 3-1 aggregate exit, some section of the fans vandalized the vehicle of a board member in the person of Vincent Sowah Odotei.

This, according to Elvis Herman Hesse is wrong and condemned the act by the fans.

“We would like to apologize to the National Sports Authority, Ghana Football Association and entire sports fraternity for the unfortunate incident that happened on October 16, 2022 after our exit from the CAF Confederations Cup against AS Real Bamako of Mali. The committee want to state emphatically that we do not condone any form of violance and therefore condemn the behaviour of a section of fans who went on rampage to damage the vehicle belonging to a certain board member of the club,” he said.

Hesse went ahead to say that “we entreat all members of the NCC to channel their grievances through the lawful means to get their problems heard and addressed”.

After Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 win over AS Real Bamako in Accra, the National Chapters Committee Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Elvis Herman Hesse was invited by the Ghana Police Service for questioning following a complaint by a Board Member of the club, Vincent Sowah Odotei.

After the aggregate defeat to their Malian opponents, fans of the club took the law into their hands and went on to deflate the car tyre of Board member Sowah Odotei.

The incident was one of many sagas that happened during the game between Hearts of Oak and AS Real Bamako.
