Ahead of the crucial 2022 World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria, VAR has been installed at the stadium for the first time.
The Baba Yara Stadium becomes the first Stadium in Ghana to ever had VAR installation since the new technology came into existence.
This was made possible because of how important the task ahead for both sides is and CAF want to have the best of officiating in the forthcoming match.
The VAR was used in the just ended AFCON to fully help in improving officiating at the tournament and that was the first time it was used from start to the ending of the competition.
In the last edition of the AFCON the VAR was used from the Knockout phase.
Ghana has never tried the use of the new technology in any of their international or topflight league matches.
The use of the VAR for the two-legged qualifiers means history has been made in the use of the technology in Ghana.
Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers game on Friday, March 25 and the second leg in Abuja on March 29.
