HISTORY – SIXTY THREE YEARS TODAY HEARTS OF OAK WON THE MAIDEN GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE TITTLE

On this day 1958, Ghanian giants Accra Hearts Of Oak won the countries maiden ghana premier league tittle.

63 years on, the club have in addition to the maiden one have won 20 league titles which amidst this period, are the only side to win it on six consecutive times.

The famous club, have also won to their successes a number of FA cups as well as winning the maiden edition of the Caf confederation cup in 2004 that they did so beating arc nemesis Kumasi Kotoko on penalties.

Seeing off Esperance de Tunis in 2000 for the Caf Champions league and that of Egyptian giant Zameleck back at the Baba Yara sports stadium in early 2001 for the Africa super cup accolade, they still remain the club with most Africa trophies amidst all Ghanian clubs.

Having great names such as HP Nyametei, Odampten and e.t.c in winning the club’s maiden proffessional tittle, Fatawu Mohammed, Salifu Ibrahim, Afriyie Barnie, Emmanuel Nertey, Nii Ansah Botwe, Richard Attah and the rest make up the current squad to have won the last edition of the ghana premier league in 2020/2021 season together with the MTN FA Cup.

Hearts Of Oak currently with three consecutive draws in the ongoing Ghana premier league, languish some where at the bottom of the log having to play quest to Obuasi Ashanti Gold in their next round of match.
