16-year-old Bechem United forward, Clinton Duodu has insisted he is better than some of the current Black Stars players, adding that he is ready to compete for a spot in the team.
The youngster has been a revelation in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League for the Haunters.
With Otto Addo set to name his squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria, the promising forward is confident he is ready to explode when given the opportunity to play for the Black Stars.
Ghana will host the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast Stadium before travelling to Abuja for the return game on March 25 and 29 respectively.
However, Duodu insists that the current crop of players are not ahead of him in terms of ability and technique in the game.
“I won’t disappoint when given the chance to play for Ghana (Black Stars),” Duodu told Kumasi based Akoma FM.
“Most of the current players are not better than me, we are just at the same level and I may even be better.
“Just as I was given the chance to play in the Ghana Premier League for the first time and I lived up to expectation, I can do same with the Black Stars even against Nigeria,” he added.
Duodu has so far made 12 appearances for Bechem United in the ongoing season.
He was part of the students who sat for the BECE examination last year.
