Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has revealed that he would want to emulate the success of the late Cecil Jones Attuquayefio with the Phobians.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM after their MTN FA Cup success, Mr Boadu eulogised the late coach and said that he would soon get to achieve the success story he wrote with the club.
“I want to be like the late Cecil Jones Attuquayefio. I am gradually learning from some of the things he did and I know very soon I will get there.”
The late Jones Attuquayefio led Hearts of Oak to the 2000 African Champions League title, the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup, two FA cups and five Ghana Premier League titles.
Attuquayefio was named African coach of the year in 2000 after his club Accra Hearts of Oak of Ghana won the African Champions league with only one loss throughout the entire tournament to DC Motema Pembe).
Jones Attuquayefio died in the early hours of 12 May 2015 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana’s capital, from throat cancer.
