Former Asante Kotoko and former Ghana Premier league goal King Eric Bekoe has revealed he was being paid GH¢ 150 a month by Asante Kotoko when he was playing for them.
Eric Bekoe said this in an interview on Nhyira FM which he also said he didn’t really care about the money but cared about the platform at that time which resulted in him getting a deal with an Egyptian club which he was earning GH¢ 5000 a month.
“I was taking ¢150 Gh¢ a month as monthly salary at Asante Kotoko SC but I wasn’t looking at the money but was looking at the platform and the platform gave me an opportunity to take ¢5000 in Egypt.”
He also advised players who are plying their footballing trade in Ghana not to rely on salary but their bonuses.
“Players have to rely on their bonuses but not salaries, my advice” – Eric Bekoe.
