Coach Barnabas Awuni, former head coach for Vision FC, has revealed that he developed an interest in coaching after he got injured as a professional player in Thailand.
The Ghanaian professional coach in an interview with Sky Power FM, Professor Kuntu Blankson says his passion for coaching started while he was still playing football as a professional palyer.“I started learning to coach after I got injured as a player, I was supposed to come to Ghana but decided to stay in Thailand and learn more about coaching because I was having the desires during my playing days as a professional footballer in Acadia Shepherd South Africa. “I left Thailand for Ghana to get my coaching lances because I was not familiar with the Thailand language even though I was earning what I was supposed to earn”
.According to Coach Barnabas Awuni, he joined Sky Fc because he wanted a new challenge after coaching a lot of division one teams.“Before I joined Sky FC, I heard a lot about their project and fell in love with their ideas and joined because I knew their project will help me build my coaching career. When ask about working with Coach Johnson Smith at Sky FC he stated that he won’t have any issue working with Coach Johnson Smith at sky FC because as a young coach he is open to learning from the best and helping promote the project of sky FC. During the 2014/2015 football season, coach Barnabas Awuni helped in guiding Vision FC to qualify for the second tier of Ghanaian football.
