Ibrahim Danlad to Hearts of Oak? Goalkeeper speaks on possible transfer
Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad has hinted at. The possibility of joining archrivals Hearts of Oak after ending his tenure with the Porcupine Warriors.
The 21-year-old, who captained Kotoko, was among the initial 11 players. Released by the club ahead of the next Ghana Premier League season. The club later added seven more names to the list. Making a total of 18 departures, with more expected to follow.
Danlad, known for his impressive pedigree and leadership qualities, is keeping. His options open, including a potential move to the Phobians.
When asked about a transfer to Hearts of Oak, he stated, “Right now, I’m not sure where I’ll go. It all depends on my management, I don’t make decisions on my own, so if we sit and discuss the deal and see it [joining Hearts of Oak] will benefit my career, I’ll consider it,” he told 3Sports.
Danlad has been a prominent figure in international football, playing through the ranks for all the youth national teams and often captaining these sides. His departure from Kotoko comes as the club seeks to rebuild following a disappointing sixth-place finish in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season.
Kotoko’s authorities are expected to be active in the transfer market, aiming to assemble a formidable squad capable of competing for trophies. As the new season approaches, many will be closely watching Danlad’s next move and the subsequent impact on his career.
