Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq continued his impressive pre-season form, netting a goal to help AZ Alkmaar secure a comfortable 3-0 victory over Belgian side Kortrijk in a friendly encounter.
The 24-year-old forward doubled AZ Alkmaar’s lead in the 59th minute, extending the advantage established by Troy Parrott’s opener in the 14th minute. This marks Sadiq’s second goal of the pre-season, following his strike in AZ Alkmaar’s emphatic 8-0 demolition of Dutch side Excelsior last week.
Seiya Maikuma sealed the win for AZ Alkmaar with a third goal in the 78th minute, putting the game out of reach for KV Kortrijk.
Ibrahim Sadiq joined AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023 from Swedish club Hacken. He is aiming to carry his pre-season momentum into the upcoming Eredivisie season. In his debut campaign, Sadiq displayed promising potential, contributing 3 goals and 3 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
AZ Alkmaar will continue their pre-season preparations with a clash against German side FC Köln on July 20th. Their Eredivisie campaign kicks off on August 10th when they face Almere City.
