Jonina Football Academy a newly promoted Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League side visited the office of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for GA Central Hon Bashiru Mohammed Kamara on Wednesday August 2 to thank him for his support for the team throughout the 2022/2023 season.
The team [Jonina] after visiting the office of the former attorney general and minister of justice, Hon Marietta Brew Appiaa, the team went on to the office of the MCE of GA central.
Hon Bashiru Mohammed Kamara also welcome the team that was led by the CEO Hon John Obiri Yeboah and some players.
Hon John Obiri Yeboah spoke on behalf of the team and thank him for the support he [Hon Bashiru] gave to the team from the start of the season to the end. “I want to say thank you for your immense support, advice and contribution to the success story of this team. Thank you for welcoming the team into your municipality and thank you for giving us the Anki Aku AstroTurf to use as our home venue. We are very grateful for that” Hon John Obiri.
Hon Obiri went on to tell the successes of the team qualifying from the division to the premiership. “By the grace of God, now we have qualify to play in Ghana’s women’s top flight football which is the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League. We are no more in division one so all the big female teams in the Southern zone will be coming to Anki Aku AstroTurf to play”
Hon Bashiru Mohammed Kamara also congratulate the girls for their success. “Congratulations on your qualification to the premier league girls, you may not know what it mean but we the people of Anki Aku knows what it mean for us to have a premier league team in our municipal. Thank you all for your hard works” Hon Bashiru.
“I’m a very big fun of you girls and I want you to continue training hard. Take all things you do at training serious because you don’t know who is watching you on the field of play and I believe this team will do well, win trophies and become one of the biggest clubs in the world” Hon Bashiru added.
Team captain, Eunice Kpenteey also thank Hon Bashiru Mohammed Kamara on behalf of the playing body. “On behalf of the playing body, I say thank you for your kind gesture, love and support for the team. We as players will try our best to make you proud in the premier league” Eunice Kpenteey.
Hon Bashiru Mohammed Kamara promised to keep supporting them to stay and do well in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
