Joseph Amoako leaves Kotoko

Winger Joseph Amoako and Asante Kotoko have mutually decided to part ways.

After nearly two years with the team, the 20-year-old has ended his contract with Asante Kotoko.

According to a statement from the club, Joseph Amoako left with everyone’s consent. The Club wishes Joseph nothing but the best in the future and appreciates his time spent with us.

Following a dispute with a fan on Facebook, Asante Kotoko had placed the player on indefinite suspension.

As he had an impactful start with four assists in the first five matches, his entrance was greeted with hope. However, ailments that prevented him from moving forward altered his course.

Amoako played in just two games for Asante Kotoko in the 2021–2022 season before being loaned to the Swedish team Helsingborgs IF.

His time overseas presented difficulties because he was wrongfully convicted of rape in Sweden, a sentence that was ultimately overturned following careful examination.
