Joseph Painstil on target as he provides an assist against Union St. Gilloise in the Belgian League

On Saturday in the Belgian first division, Genk defeated Union St. Gilloise 2-0 with help from Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil.

Despite being ruled out of Ghana’s games during the international break due to an injury suffered in Genk’s most recent match, Painstil returned to the field.

This is a strong comeback from the the Ghanaian winger. He was influential before he got that knock.

At the Stade Joseph Marin, Joseph Paintsil was part of the starting lineup but was removed after 58 minutes.

The home team had a better percentage of the ball for the majority of the game, but their opponents tried to attack effectively and squandered two scoring chances in the fifth and eleventh minutes to release Genk from danger.

After six games, Genk is undefeated in their previous four contests and is now ranked sixth in the league.
