Hearts player Michael Ampadu has “Smoked the Peace Pipe” with head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara and is set to return to training on Monday when the team gets back to work to continue with their preparation for the rest of the season.
Ampadu and coach, Ouattara, have officially mended their differences after the player showed a lot of remorse and rendered an unqualified apology to Aboubakar Ouattara when he visited him at his residence.
Ampadu was accompanied by the first team captain, Benjamin Asare and his deputy, Osei Asibey.
This gesture will mark the beginning of a new chapter.
Micheal Ampadu was grateful to the club’s Executive Board Chairman, His Royal Highness Togbe Afede XIV, for the role he played in resolving the impasse.
Speaking to Hearts Communications after the meeting, Ouattara expressed his optimism for the future, stating:
“In the spirit of the New Year and also my own birthday, coupled with our recent victory and more importantly being a father figure for the squad, I believe it’s the perfect time to let go of the past and start afresh. Let’s forge ahead as a united family and work together for the greater good.”
Michael Ampadu also shared his joy at being welcomed back into the fold. He expressed his gratitude to the club’s president, his teammates.
“I am happy to have smoked the peace pipe with my father, Ouattara. I want to say a very big thanks to the club’s president for his positive impact. A big thank you to my teammates for their advice and support as they joined hands with me to apologize for my unsporting conduct. I promise to do my best and fight for the badge on our journey.”
The reconciliation marks a significant moment of unity for the team as we prepare for the challenges ahead.
