MATCH REPORT: Karela United Held Ashanti Gold SC In A 2-2 Draw At The Len Clay Stadium This Afternoon.

Anyinase-based Karela United held the Miners to a 2-2 stalemate in the league opener at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Pride and Passion started the match on a good note when striker Diawusie Taylor continued his good goalscoring form against Ashgold when he broke the deadlock after four minutes.

On the 23rd minute, midfielder Appiah McCarthy levelled the score for AshantiGold SC with his free-kick wickedly deflecting into the back of the net much to the surprised of Karela United goalkeeper Yaw Ansah.

The Elephants were forced to make an early substitution after Mark Agyekum sustained injury. He was replaced by Eric Esso.

The first half of the match ended in a one-draw.

After recess, AshantiGold forward Hans Kwofie connected from a teasing cross to complete the comeback for the home side to hand his side a 2-1 lead.

Substitute Samuel Ofori netted his leveller for Karela United with a cool finish on the hour mark to make it 2-2.
