Following the failure of his move to Hearts of Oak, King Faisal defender Oppong Afrane has filed a complaint against his team with the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee.
Afrane was unable to move to Hearts of Oak before the window closed on September 8, 2023, despite the prolongation of the Ghanaian transfer window.
King Faisal wanted to renegotiate the player’s transfer cost despite having already agreed to an amount double his release clause. The player had already reached personal terms with Hearts of Oak.
According to reports, Alhaji Grusah, the owner of King Faisal, was aware of Asante Kotoko’s interest in Afrane and had made an effort to use this information to pressure Hearts of Oak into paying more for the center-back.
Afrane was obliged to remain, proving that this plan didn’t operate as planned.
