Kurt Okraku will not exceed the four-year mandate – Nana Kwasi Darling reacts to 48-months ban

Former Ashantigold sporting director Nana Kwasi Darling believes Kurt Okraku will not go beyond the four-year mandate as the President of the Ghana Football Association.

Ashantigold, Ghana’s third most successful club, has been demoted to the country’s third-tier league after being found guilty of match-fixing.

After a 10-month investigation, the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee determined that the club manipulated their match against Inter Allies, resulting in a cricket scoreline in the 2021/22 season.

The Miners won 7-0, with Inter Allies player Hashim Musah scoring two own goals on purpose.

As a result, the former Bechem United management member who failed to appear before the Committee has been banned for 48-months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations.

Reacting to the verdict, Nana Kwasi Darling denied the FA claims that he didn’t honour their invitation and has therefore predicted the current FA boss will not exceed his mandate.

“I’m surprised with the FA ruling. It is never true I didn’t appear before the committee. They should stop tarnishing my image. Are they telling me the people I met there were ghost?

“Maybe, they are doing that to sideline me because the FA elections is close. Everyone knows I am in the camp of George Afriyie, so maybe they don’t want me to campaign for him”

“But I strongly believe Kurt Okraku will not exceed the four-year mandate” he said.
