Al-Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte is reportedly looking to leave the Saudi Pro League side with a move to Real Madrid looming.
Laporte moved to the Saudi Pro League side last summer from Manchester City in a much-anticipated transfer that saw him join forces with the likes of Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Frenchman failed to have a very major impact on the side and is now pushing to terminate his contract with Al-Nassr.
Saudi publication Al-Yaum has reported that Laporte and his agent have opened talks with Al-Nassr to figure out a financial settlement package that would see the contract between the two sides terminated as the Spaniard looks to make a move to Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti looking to fortify his defence after missing out on the signing of Leny Yoro to cover for Nacho’s departure.
As per Mundo Deportivo [via Al-Yaum], Al-Nassr president Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib travelled to Spain earlier this week to hold talks with technical director Fernando Hierro and coach Luis Castro to discuss the potential departure of Laporte from the club.
While his teammates continue their preparations for their season opener in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al-Taawoun on August 14, Laporte will continue to push for an exit to sign for Real Madrid.
