Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has attributed Hearts of Oak’s poor form to fatigue following their humiliating exit from Africa.
The Phobians crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday because of a 4-0 defeat in Algeria against JS Saoura.
Their exit follows their winless start to Ghana Premier League title defence. The Phobians occupy the last position on the table, albeit playing two games less.
“Going into the season, their main focus was on Africa so they did not really focus on the Ghana Premier League,” Kingston told Citi Sports.
“So in future, I would love to see them planning well and they also need to manage the players very well.
“For me, I think the players have been overused and so fatigue has set in but with time I believe they will bounce back.”
With their African campaign over, Hearts have to fully focus on the domestic competitions. They achieved the double last season and they aim to defend both trophies.
