Liverpool share spoils with Chelsea in goaless draw 

 

Liverpool were held by Chelsea at Anfield in a goaless draw which saw the Blues dominate the 2020 Champions in unexpected fashion.

 

Chelsea opened the scoring in the early minutes from a corner with Kai Havertz grabbing the rebound of Thiago Silva’s shot which came off the post yet the goal was chalked off by VAR.

 

Chelsea remained dominant over Liverpool with Lewis hall and Kai Havertz coming close to breaking the deadlock yet Allison stood up tall again and again for the Reds.

 

The game went into the break with Liverpool dormant yet able to press Chelsea high up the pitch and for the Blues, a ruled out goal denying them of being ahead.

 

The second half saw Chelsea dominated by Liverpool in the first 10 minutes until Graham Potter introduced new signing Mykhailo Mudryk onto the pitch as he proved his worth and quality by running riot against Liverpool’s midfield and defense.

 

Cody Gakpo was found by substitute Darwin Nunez after 69 minutes yet his left footed shot was saved at the left bottom corner by Kepa.

 

Liverpool avoid three straight defeats in the Premier League despite being dominated by Chelsea in many aspects of the game.

 

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp takes home a draw after his 1000th game as a manager.

 

Both teams failed to find the opener as the game ended goaless with Liverpool in 8th place on the Premier League table and Chelsea remaining in 10th place.
