Real Tamale United secured a 2-1 win over Accra Hearts of Oak on match week 33 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The home team found openings in the early minutes, one of such moments saw
Obeng Junior pick a good pass from Rashid Okine but the former had his cross saved by the visitors goalie.
RTU looked sluggish and had few chances coming their way as the game progressed.
Hearts of Oak finally opened the scoring account on the 35th minute after Linda Mtange scored a nice goal from Surah Seidu’s assist to put the host in front.
The travellers with a chance to equalize on the stroke of half time but Sadat Mohammed had his effort checked by Richard Attah.
In the second half, Real Tamale United returned on a higher note and got the leveller just a minute from the break the man again- Manaf Umar Gumah who scored from a rebound effort.
It subsequently became a close contest with some exciting and explosive end to end stuffs as both teams raged against each other in the early stages.
The even exchanges favoured the ‘Pride of the North’ outfit who scored again on the 79th minute through Stephen Badu who connected Baba Kushibo’s cross to hand the lead for the first time in the game.
It ended 2-1 after full time. RTU managed to secure survival as they currently sit 9th on the log with 46 point.
