Karela United held Asante Kotoko to a draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in the last fixture of match-week 32 of the 2022/2023 Betpawa premier league season.
The Porcupine Warriors launched a quick attack on the third minute but Sarfo Taylor’s strike could only fetch Kotoko a corner kick which they failed to capitalize on.
Karela United looked very composed and resolute at the back but had few chances coming their way.
Steven Mukwala had a glorious opportunity on the 21st minute after he was put through with a good ball but couldn’t make it count.
Eight minutes after, John Tedeku made a teasing cross from the left which forces an own goal from young lateral Abdul Rashid.
In the second half, the ‘Pride and Passion’ side returned well with Humin Dafie putting Owusu Boakye through with a decent pass but Asare interrupted their attack.
Karela United finally got the equalizer on the 74th minute through ex- Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed.
The ‘Kum Apem’ lads in the last ten minutes made series of attacks but couldn’t find themselves on the scoresheet again as it finished 1-1 after full time.
Asante Kotoko are still in the top four with 48 points, whiles Karela United remain in the relegation zone with 41.
