Mohammed Kudus of Ghana, an offensive midfielder, has been selected for the Dutch Eredivisie Team-Of-The-Week for the second week of the league.
After scoring in the team’s opening match, the 23-year-old made a significant contribution in the weekend’s second match, which Ajax drew 2-2 with Excelsior.
In the vital match, the midfielder gave it his all to help his team recover from going behind by one goal and settle for a draw.
In the 72nd minute, he recovered possession of the ball and whipped in a cross that former Werder Bremen star Davy Klaassen converted to make it 2-2.
Ajax had grabbed the lead before the goal thanks to Brian Brobbey in the 25th minute, but they lost it when Excelsior scored twice through Hormans and Agrafiotis.
West Ham,Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked to a move for Kudus this summer, with Brighton having agreed in principle to sign him for £35 million earlier this month before the deal stalled.
