Ghana premier league side Nsoatreman FC have been eliminated out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 1-0 against Algerian side CS Constantine in the second leg of their second-round clash on Saturday evening.
The result sealed a 3-0 aggregate victory for Constantine, who had previously won 2-0 in the first leg in Accra Ghana
Nsoatreman, who were wasteful in the first leg, paid the price for missed chances as Constantine capitalised on their early advantage.
Zakaria Benchaa scored the only goal of the second leg after 19 minutes, giving Constantine control of the match at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui.
The Algerians dominated the contest, leaving Nsoatreman with few opportunities to turn things around.
Despite a valiant effort, Nsoatreman struggled to break through Constantine’s defence, and the Ghanaians’ hopes of advancing to the group stage ended in disappointment. This marks the end of Nsoatreman’s debut campaign in African club football.
The club will now shift its focus to domestic competitions, where they will aim to defend their FA Cup title or compete for the Ghana Premier League title to secure another shot at continental football.
Despite the early exit, Nsoatreman will view the experience as a valuable lesson for future endeavors
