Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of Kwesi Nketiah from the lower-tier side Susubribi FC.
The 21-year-old has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Phobians, adding depth and competition to their goalkeeping department alongside fellow new arrival Sharif Shuaib, acquired from Inter Allies.
Kwesi Nketiah, who began his career with Soccer Intellectuals, had joined Susubribi FC in 2021 from Avenue Soccer Academy, amassing 48 appearances during his tenure at the club.
His arrival, along with Shuaib’s, comes at a crucial juncture as Hearts of oak currently occupy 10th place in the league with 21 points. With Nketiah and Shuaib injecting youthful talent and engaging in a healthy rivalry for the starting spot, Hearts can anticipate a renewed focus on defensive solidity.
This dynamic duo not only bolsters the team’s defensive stability but also plays a key role in their quest to climb the table and potentially challenge for the title in the second half of the season
The Phobians open their second-half campaign with a home clash against Real Tamale United on February 23rd.
