Ghana coach Otto Addo has urged fans to fill the Baba Yara Stadium and show “unconditional”. Support as the Black Stars face the Central African Republic (CAR) in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
The match, part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series, will take place in Kumasi on Monday at 19:00 GMT.
Reflecting on his first experience as a coach at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Ghana faced. Nigeria in the playoff final for the 2022 World Cup, Addo expressed his appreciation for the fans’ overwhelming support.
The enthusiastic crowd played a pivotal role in helping the Black Stars secure a positive result. Ultimately leading to their qualification for the World Cup.
“I was really overwhelmed the last time we came here. To be honest, I didn’t expect that,” Addo said in a pre-match conference. “Support should be unconditional, not only when you win, and Kumasi always shows support no matter the circumstances. I am very happy to play here because I know this will give us an extra kick because even in hard times, I know they’ll always support us.”
