Black Stars coach Otto Addo has shed light on Jordan Ayew’s desire to see his elder brother. Andre Ayew, return to the national team camp, following Andre’s omission from the latest squad selection.

Despite Andre Ayew’s notable performances with Le Havre in Ligue 1, where he scored six goals in 20 games to help the club avoid. Relegation, the 34-year-old forward was left out of the Black Stars squad. This decision has sparked discussions about his future with the national team.

In Andre’s absence, Jordan Ayew stepped up significantly during Ghana’s recent World Cup qualifying matches. The Crystal Palace forward came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against Mali, breaking Ghana’s eight-game winless streak. His stellar performance earned him a starting position in the subsequent match against the Central African Republic (CAR). Where he scored a hat-trick in a thrilling 4-3 victory. This marked Ghana’s first consecutive wins since September 2023.

When questioned about the impact of Andre Ayew’s absence on the team. Otto Addo responded on behalf of Jordan, acknowledging Jordan’s wish to have his brother alongside him in the national team setup.

“Let me speak for Jordan. It’s his brother. Sure, he wants him to be next to him,” Otto Addo remarked. “But, I have a responsibility for the national team, for Ghana, and I have to decide what is best for the team. Who knows? Maybe he’s there, maybe not, but I don’t know.”

Currently, the Black Stars are focused on solidifying their position in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Their recent victories have boosted their standing in the qualifiers, placing them second on the table with nine points from four games.
