Our ‘Stadiums Are In Bad Shape But We Pay Blackstars Higher’ – GHALCA Chairman

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman Cudjoe Fianoo has weighed in on the misplaced priority in Ghana football.

Ghana have been struggling to find a modern standard stadium to host Nigeria in the upcoming World Cup play-off later this month.

The Cape Coast stadium was rejected by CAF inspection team as it was not fit for the game.

Baba Yara Stadium came into the picture as an alternative and the African football governing body’s inspection team wants some new changes to be made at the Stadium.

Cudjoe Fianoo who was speaking on SavingOurPassion show on GTV said:

‘Senegal won the 2022 AFCON and players were given $7,000.

‘Ghana was eliminated and players received $20,000. But our stadiums are in a deplorable state.”

The squad for the team has not been named so far by the GFA in what the football governing described as new tactics for the senior national team.

Ghana will host Nigeria in Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium for the first leg on March 25 and the return leg on March 29 in Abuja, Nigeria.
