Sekondi Hasaacas captain, Samuel Abeiku Ainooson has joined the player pay cut discussion citing that the proposal is unnecessary, considering the money players take as salaries here in Ghana.
In an exclusive interview with Takoradi based Spice 91.9 FM, the former Kotoko defender said:
“Recently, we saw how the Kotoko players reacted when an attempt was made to slash down their salaries, considering the club as the highest-paid club in terms of player salaries.
Pay cut won’t work in Ghana. How much do the likes of Sky FC, Gold Stars, Hasaacas and the other Division One clubs pay their players? very little and some don’t pay at all, so slashing down will definitely kill these players.”
Abeiku Ainooson joined Sekondi Hasaacas at the start of this season and will be aiming to qualify the team to the Premier League proper when football returns.
