Former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien has stated how privilege it was to represent his country Ghana during his active days as a footballer.
The Chelsea legend served the nation for 12 years for retiring in 2018 and had already featured for the junior national teams.
“It was an honor to play for the Black Stars. It is the dream of every young footballer and thankfully I realized mine.”
“It was a pleasure to represent my country. I’m lucky because I’m the only player who has represented the country at every stage, starting from the U12, U15, U17, U20 to the Olympics Games with the U23 and straight to the Black Stars. I think I’ve done enough,” Essien told Carol Tshabalala.
