Portugal claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Ireland in an international friendly on Tuesday night at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro.
The match served as a final preparation for Portugal ahead of the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
João Félix got Portugal off to a flying start, finding the net in the 18th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo, ever the goal-scorer, doubled Portugal’s lead in the 50th minute. The 39-year-old sealed the win with his second goal of the night ten minutes later, taking his international tally to a staggering 130 goals.
This dominant performance by Portugal will boost their confidence significantly ahead of the Euros. Manager Roberto Martinez’s men have been placed in Group F alongside Czech Republic, Turkey, and Georgia.
Portugal will be looking to replicate their 2016 Euros triumph when the tournament kicks off on June 14.
