Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed confidence in the club’s ability to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title, even after a disappointing run of form.
The Porcupine Warriors have recently faced consecutive home defeats against Legon Cities and Heart of Lions, causing them to slip from second to third place in the league standings with 15 points, trailing the leaders by four points.
This downturn has stirred frustration among the Kotoko faithful.
Despite the recent setbacks, Ogum maintains a positive outlook on their title aspirations. “It doesn’t mean that it’s over.
We still have so many games,” he stated. The coach called on fans to continue their unwavering support, as they have shown throughout the season.
“The way they have supported us from the beginning, they should keep supporting us that way. They should still have confidence and belief in us.”
Ogum emphasized the importance of maintaining respect and faith in the team’s potential.
“They should still have respect for the team, knowing the team is capable of winning games and the championship.
We are very happy with their support. We understand their emotions because they think the team is very good,” he added.
Kotoko will aim to get back on track as they prepare for an away match against Bechem United in round 10 of the league, hoping to close the gap at the top and reaffirm their title credentials.
