Manchester United edged past Manchester City in the Manchester Derby after a wonderful 2-1 comeback in the second half of the game.
The game begun with United pressing City high up the pitch and remaining compact in midfield and defense and catching City on the break.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford came close to opening the scoring for the home side yet failed to convert their opportunities in front of goal.
Rashford was once again found by Eriksen and was through on goal yet the England international failed to square it to Martial or find the back of the net.
Manchester City struggled to register a shot on target in the first half with Kyle Walker coming close from 35 yards yet his shot was slightly wide off the post.
The game remained goaless going into the break after United’s many missed opportunities and City’s reluctant display.
However, the second half took a quick turn with Jack Grealish coming on for Phil Foden and the former Villa man found the opener after an incredible cross from Kevin De Bryne.
In the 80th minute, a wonderful ball was played out the back of the United defense which found Bissaka and his pass eventually found Bruno Fernandes who slotted in beautifully past Ederson to restore parity for the reds.
Two minutes later, the entire game switched on yet again with Manchester United taking the lead through Marcos Rashford after a wonderful cross by youngster Alejandro Garnarcho.
Three minutes later, City came close to being level through Haaland yet the ball was kicked off his feet by Casimiro with the City players and bench appealing for a penalty.
VAR however did not intervene and United went ahead to stay resilient and see the game through.
The game finished 2-1 in favor of United with United eagerly not just in the top four but in the race for the title this year.
