Brighton have announced that Zambian star Enock Mwepu has been forced to retire at the age of 24 following the diagnosis of a hereditary heart condition.
Background is that two weeks ago, he flew to join his national team ahead of their international friendlies and started feeling unwell. He was hospitalised and, after initial tests, it was decided he be flown back to the UK for further checks.
This news means the promising striker will cut short his playing career many years ahead of schedule.
