Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara criticized midfielder Salim Adams for his performance against Aduana FC.
The match ended in a goalless draw at the University of Ghana Stadium, despite Hearts playing with an extra man from the 57th minute after Aduana’s Rich Mensah was sent off.
Adams came on as a substitute for striker Asamoah Boateng in the 68th minute but struggled, misplacing several passes and missing a key opportunity to score late in the game.
In the post-match press conference, Ouattara expressed his disappointment, noting that Adams seemed to feel too much pressure to perform against Aduana.
“He has played this role (striker) several times, but because of the pressure he put on himself, he didn’t perform. When I saw that Aduana’s defense was tired, I thought Salim’s substitution would make a difference, but he looked more tired than the player he replaced.”
The match saw Hearts of Oak squander multiple scoring opportunities.
This draw adds further pressure on Hearts’ head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, whose team is now struggling for form.
With only one win in their last five matches, the Phobians find themselves in a challenging position as they look to rebound in their upcoming fixtures.
