Crystal Palace winger, Jeffery Schlupp has in recent times rejected invitations to play for the Black Stars as a result of an embarrassment at Airport.
Schlupp, who has established himself as a key cog to the Crystal Palace team missed out in Otto Addo’s latest squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
A chunk of Ghanaians has raised concerns as to why, Schlupp, who has been regular for the Premier League side was overlooked.
But according to footballghana.com the Black Stars coach wanted to include Schlupp only for the player to reject it.
According to Kumasi-based Kessben FM, one of the main reasons why the Crystal Palace midfielder has refused to play for the Black Stars is because of an embarrassing situation he faced at the Heathrow Airport after he had been invited for a Black Stars game only to get to the airport and realise his ticket had not been paid for by the Ghana Football Association [GFA].
It is unknown whether Jeffery Schlupp will rescind his decision not to play for the national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Schlupp has so far made a total seven appearances for Palace in the ongoing season.
