The players stayed in a hotel with a nightclub’ – GFA Spokesperson Henry Asante

Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has disclosed that one of the many problems faced by the Black Stars was lodging in a hotel that had a nightclub beneath it.

“Black Stars lodged in a hotel with a night club and sometimes, you could hear the noise. CAF provided the hotel for us. You move out at your own cost. Some players spoke about the hotel, not complain,” he told Starr FM.

According to Mr. Twum, some of the players spoke about it but not in a form of a complaint.

Ghana was knocked out from the group stages after a shameful display that lead to the sacking of Milovan Rejevac.

The black star’s performance was described by many Ghanaians as their worst ever performance at AFCON.

The FA further disclosed that the players were not given any winning bonuses because they failed to win a game.

“Black Stars players didn’t get any bonus because they didn’t win a game but they got $20k each as appearance fee (for AFCON 2021). Other countries paid more. Gabon took $60k,” he said.

The Ghana Football Association is in search of an interim coach to lead the Black Stars to the World cup playoffs against the super eagles of Nigeria.
